Berry Bushes Belong in More Backyards

Berry bushes are some of the most rewarding food-producing plants a home grower can add to the landscape. They usually begin producing sooner than fruit trees, fit into smaller spaces, are easier to harvest, and can provide dependable crops for many years.

You do not need a farm or a large orchard to grow meaningful amounts of fruit. A few carefully chosen berry bushes can completely change what your yard provides.

Why Fruitful Landscapes?

We focus on berry bushes that we genuinely value on our own property—plants selected for productivity, resilience, usefulness, and their ability to perform well for home growers.

Grown by a Small Nursery

Our plants are propagated and tended at our backyard nursery in Lansing, Michigan. They are not anonymous warehouse stock from an unknown source.

David Albert of Fruitful Landscapes
Our Story

A Backyard That Became a Berry Nursery

Fruitful Landscapes grew from my own desire to make better use of the land around our home. Over the years, ordinary lawn and unused spaces gradually became gardens, berry plantings, fruit trees, nursery beds, and wildlife habitat.

Berry bushes became an especially important part of that transformation. Compared with many fruit trees, they are often easier to grow, quicker to produce, easier to harvest, and capable of providing an impressive amount of food from a relatively small area.

What began as a personal effort to grow more of our own food became a desire to help other people do the same. A productive landscape does not have to begin with a giant plan. It can begin with one good berry bush planted in the right place.

Today, Fruitful Landscapes is focused on providing quality berry bushes and honest growing information for people who want their yards to produce a little more.

Grow a Little More of Your Own Food

We do not believe everyone needs to become completely self-sufficient. But we do believe the world becomes a little better when more people grow even a small amount of their own food. Berry bushes make that goal practical, approachable, and surprisingly rewarding.
